Music: Rock/Pop Celebrate Brooklyn presents Spoon w/ Jay Reatard

After years tracing the outer edges, Spoon are finally on the cusp of greatness. The indie darlings' sixth album — last year's Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga — added another notch to a discography built around buoyant guitar melodies, powerful hooks, and Britt Daniel's sexy nasal rasp. The band has since proved its mainstream appeal: the appearance of Spoon's "The Way We Get By" on teen show The OC surely rankled many an indie elitist. Still, when you name your record after a piano riff, drop in the same sounds you always have, and it shows up in the tenth spot on the Billboard Charts, you know you're at least killing it with cred.
