Film Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927) with 3epkano

Although F.W. Murnau's moody silent-film masterpiece Sunrise received multiple Academy Awards, it was released only days before the opening of Warner Bros.' much-anticipated first "talkie," The Jazz Singer, and the novelty of onscreen dialogue eclipsed the former's groundbreaking cinematography. Taking aesthetic cues from the German expressionist movement, Sunrise follows the tribulations of the Man (George O'Brien), a married farmer who's seduced by the manipulative Woman from the City (Margaret Livingston); at the behest of his lover, the Man sets out to drown his loving but simple wife (Janet Gaynor). Tonight, Dublin rock ensemble 3epkano perform a live, original soundtrack, weaving haunting melodies through the film's tale of lust, murder, and retribution.
