Music: Global Brotherhood of Brass: Boban i Marko Markovic Orkestar w/ Frank London's Klezmer Brass All Stars

The alternately frenzied and melancholic gypsy brass music of the Balkans has become increasingly popular in the past few years, influencing artists from Gogol Bordello to Beirut. Tonight's show goes straight to the source: Serbia's Boban Markovic, the most celebrated Balkan trumpeter around. He's been the subject of documentaries, won countless awards, and recorded music for Emir Kusturica's iconic Underground — and now he passes the torch to his son Marko, who's been touring with his Orkestar for the past few years. NY's Klezmer Brass All Stars (led by Frank London of the Klezmatics) open, bringing the similarly brass-happy music of the Jewish diaspora to the masses.
