The curiously named Knyfe Hyts has the market cornered on deranged cartoon-themed sludge. With members of Ex-Models, Oneida, and Pterodactyl, the band fluctuates between errant freakouts and more cohesive drone grooves, playing out some strange high-school fantasy about Black Sabbath and animal costumes. Avant-rapper Ninjasonik, meanwhile, offers his own demented beats, while openers Pyschothriller share in the noise, but curb the spazz factor.
