Performing Arts: Dance CHASE Latino Cultural Festival presents Camerino 4

Queens Theatre in the Park in Flushing Meadows may be a hike, but it's worth it for a free performance by Mexican dance company Camerino 4. Making its US debut, the company is led by Uruguayan sculptor-turned-choreographer Magdalena Brezzo, who combines elements from "theater of the absurd," the language of cinema, and Mexico City's urban chaos to forge her own distinct style. The program, part of the CHASE Latino Cultural Festival, includes the premiere of Acrílico (commissioned by Queens Theatre in the Park), Azares para Cinco, and Chocolate — which won Mexico City's prestigious international choreographic competition INBA-UAM in 2006.
