Reading The Mixtape Reading Series: Stories About Songs

THE2NDHAND's Mixtape Reading Series invites writers to read short stories inspired by, based on, or about a particular song. Combining the highly personal process of song-selection with the raw craft of storytelling, the series is bringing some much-needed energy back to the art of the mix tape. And yet, this is a welcome departure from the mopey musings of Nick Hornby's High Fidelity. Tonight's event is cosponsored by the Asian American Writer's Workshop and features prominent members like former Queens Poet Laureate Ishle Yi Park, acclaimed novelist Ed Lin, and spoken-word performer Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai.
