- Chess is often thought of as a game for the patient, strategic, and diesel-brained among us, but today's open-invitation tournament encourages New Yorkers of all brain types to flaunt their checkmate skills. Youth-education nonprofit 9 Queens partners with WuChess founder and hip-hop alpha nerd RZA to host the affair, while vlogger Jay Smooth and ChessBitch champ Jennifer Shahade take on the rest of the city in a single-elimination speed-chess challenge.
