Pitchfork-anointed hot new things Crystal Antlers take a free-form, orchestral approach, layering sizzling rockers with trippy, space-obsessed interludes. Taking a brief break from the Fuck Yeah tour with Matt & Kim, Team Robespierre, and the Death Set, among others, the Cali-based five promise a soaring, sludgy set with a one-off show tonight. They're joined by the strange psychedelic rites of Brooklyn-bred noiseniks Religious Knives. With droning vocals over found sounds and heavy sheets of static, the band adds a perfect bit of reverie to counterpoint the headliner's crunchy riffage. Fellow locals Chairlift are also on board, layering synth-laden stabs with echo-drenched indie pop.
