Flying Carpet Theatre's A Day in Dig Nation is the type of genre-defying show that is supposed to be thriving in New York City, but seems increasingly hard to find. A hit at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, this one-man multimedia adventure takes on the monotonous daily grind of today's technology-saturated world. Complete with a comically accurate "starving artist" video game, the production blurs the line between fantasy and reality using nothing more than a stool, gas mask, plumed pen, and co-creator Michael McQuilken's expressive, physically intense performance.
