Music: Punk/Metal Jaguar Love w/ Beluga

On records like Crimes and Burn, Piano Island, Burn (to say nothing of their criminally underrated Neon Blonde side-project), the Blood Brothers expertly siphoned the clunky machismo out of hardcore, kept its visceral kick, and added a heap of glammy flamboyance. With Jaguar Love, singer Johnny Whitney and guitarist Cody Votolato (along with former Pretty Girls Make Graves drummer J Clark) offer similalrly shouty abrasions, but the glam-punk hooks, cabaret piano, and castrato-sounding vocals are no longer bound in screamo constraints. Check out "Highways of Gold," one of the sexiest, catchiest songs any of these guys have put their name to.
