“The independent vendors at Artists and Fleas supply the essentials — jewelry, vintage clothing, fashion, crafts, books, and vinyl — to the accompaniment of an in-house DJ. Even if you don't find something to buy, you can watch a jeweler make a pair of earrings, or a designer knit the hats that you'll eventually see on her table. Among the books on sale are more than a few reviewer copies of new releases (at a fraction of the hardcover price), while the offbeat fashion tends to be much cheaper than in the city's boutiques. If you're in the neighborhood, it’s a worthwhile break from the Bedford crowds and the heat.”
