Performing Arts: Dance Cedar Lake Dance: The Copier

Cedar Lake Dance continues to change the way dance is viewed with its new production, The Copier. For this performance, all seating is removed, and the company and audience share a single large space. Dances take place in various areas, sometimes simultaneously, and people are free to move around as the youthful company weaves through the crowd, performing inches away from spectators. Strategically placed platforms even allow dancers to soar overhead when appropriate. William Forsythe company dancer Jill Johnson choreographs this unconventional piece to music by indie singer/songwriter David Poe.
