After a few albums of post-punk manqué, Brooklyn trio Oxford Collapse shattered expectations with 2006's Remember the Night Parties. Sounding more Chapel Hill circa '95 than '01 Williamsburg, their Sub Pop debut kept the rhythm section fractured, while the knotted Polvo guitars and Archers of Loaf yelping are pure out-of-step ebullience. The band celebrates the recent release of its new album, Bits, tonight — an album that hits with a rougher, but no less appealing, edge.
