Stateside spottings of Kompakt envoys Superpitcher and Michael Mayer are fairly common. However, Reinhard Voigt, one of the founding members of the influential Cologne-based imprint, makes far fewer jaunts across the Atlantic. His signature sound is continental techno with a healthy dollop of subversive-yet-catchy pop, which makes for DJ sets that satiate both the cognoscenti and the casual clubgoer alike. Case in point: in a now-legendary APT appearance back in 2003, Voigt and Mayer dropped everything from new techno bombs to the synth-pop of Kylie, bringing down the house in the process. Tonight he's joined by Mental Groove's Brodinski and the ever-reliable FIXED residents.
