A monster's head looks best crushed, so give thanks to Kaiju Big Battel for ten years of overstuffed mayhem. Melding Godzilla's grandeur with old-school WWF antics, the manga-damaged fantasy pits costumed brawlers against each other in a head-to-head celebration of cartoonish violence and generally irresponsible behavior. After February's extravaganza at Webster Hall, the troupe heads to the Yard in Brooklyn for a daytime blowout, featuring the freshly minted "Danger Cage." Japan's premier freak-ninja pop-punkers Peelander-Z also perform, proving beyond the shadow of a doubt that watching Power Rangers is a decent substitute for psychedelic drug use.
