Clubgoers are probably most familiar with Joakim through his oddball (and awesomely danceable) remixes for Cut Copy, Tiga, and Simian Mobile Disco. But the Tigersushi label head is something of a chameleon, as adept at jazz, hip-hop, and ambient as he is at techno and house. On last year's Monsters & Silly Songs, he even delved into a sparse, disco-meets-Krautrock sound reminiscent of early Can. Behind the turntables, Joakim sticks to what works on the dance floor — but for his set at the Sunday Best! "barbeque-cum-dance-party," anything goes.
