Theatrical parables about our nation's state of affairs aren't uncommon, but few draw as many subtle parallels as Lady. In the woods of Illinois, three middle-aged childhood friends are on their annual hunting trip. They're accompanied by Lady, the loyal dog of Kenny, the simple, down-on-his luck, apathetic one. The other two, despite their similar pasts, now find themselves at odds both politically and morally (especially since Graham is their congressman). The three actors take on these difficult roles with plenty of success, and despite some heavy-handed writing, Lady is effective and compelling.
