The Windy City keeps sending its fine artistic representatives our way. After the phenomenal success of Steppenwolf Theatre's August: Osage County, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago lights another local stage on fire with its latest collection of works. The eclectic mix of dance includes two pieces by celebrated Spanish choreographer Nacho Duato, a cheeky comical piece by Lucas Crandall, and two breathtaking works by 28-year-old company member Alejandro Cerrudo. His talent for constructing visual imagery that stays with the viewer for days is astonishing, and his choreography's relationship with the music (Devendra Banhart in one piece, Philip Glass and Dustin O'Halloran in the other) is organically symbiotic. Cerrudo is definitely a Chicagoan to watch out for.
