Flâneurs, city explorers, artists, musicians, and writers congregate this weekend to celebrate urban psychogeography. Now in its fifth year, the Conflux Festival hosts a series of lectures, art installations, interactive performances, and walking tours, all of which whimsically question the boundaries of public urban space. Converse with keynote speaker Chris Carlsson (co-founder of Critical Mass and editor of Processed World), participate in Twiceband's staging of John Cage's 49 Waltzes for the 5 Boroughs, and take a tour of New York's underground rivers and streams. Other projects include a group tango across the Brooklyn Bridge, a pollution-sensitive corset, and a portable park.
