Colonial theme-park worker Victor Mancini (an especially disheveled Sam Rockwell) barely survived childhood with his erratic mother (Anjelica Huston, bearing all her wonderful fangs), and only feels alive when having scads of anonymous, dirty sex. When not coupling with everyone, he scams restaurant patrons to pay for the private hospital where his now Alzheimer's-afflicted mother malingers. The second movie adapted from the work of that dark horse of contemporary US fiction, Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club), Choke strides into the unsavory corners of human sexuality with a comic sincerity that is both unbearable and irresistible.
