On Black Dice's latest album, last year's Load Blown, the experimental electronic band holds the listener's hand a little more than on past releases, offering its least ADD outing to date. Employing its usual cornucopia of dissonant and oddball synth sounds, the trio relies on tribalistic transitions to get from one idea to the next, ending up with compositions that are thrilling in their otherworldliness. The album is actually a collection of recently released 12-inch singles, which probably explain its relative terseness and punch.
