To celebrate the Museum of Arts and Design's new Columbus Circle location in eco-style, 50 international artists transform mass-produced household items — buttons, keepsakes, bits of hardware — into a fascinating post-consumer landscape. Local flight-obsessed artist Paul Villinski makes butterflies from old vinyl records, while Korean sculptor Do-Ho Suh expertly crafts a military jacket out of dog tags. Dutch designer Tejo Remy spins cast-off fabric into haute green furniture and British artist Susie MacMurray gives fashion a slap in the face with a giant dress made from thousands of latex gloves. Reduce, reuse, recycle and then go home and holler at your old marble collection.
