Music: Hip-Hop Brooklyn Academy's Bored of Education Album Release Party feat. Jean Grae

While they've dropped a number of singles, solo albums, and underground mixtapes since the late '90s, long-running hip-hop crew Brooklyn Academy have yet to actually release an album. On their debut, Bored of Education, out this week, the Brooklyn natives — Block McCloud, Pumpkinhead, and Mr. Metaphor — tap bumpin' old-school anthemry, meshing the smooth lyrical flow of golden-age hip-hop with the grit and grime of a more uproarious era. Tonight, they invite the extended crew to the stage, celebrating the release with performances by Talib Kweli-endorsed word-slinger Jean Grae, as well as Keith Murray, Sean Price, Scram Jones, Reef the Lost Cause, and Fresh Jones.
