A portrait of class disparities and seemingly unattainable aspirations, The Pool — the latest from Chris Smith (American Movie) — follows the story of a "room boy" at a hotel in Panjim, Goa, India, who is determined to one day gain access to the swanky pool he spots from a mango tree. When he satisfies his curiosity and ventures into this new world he begins to realize just what he's leaving behind. The winner of Sundance Film Festival's Special Jury Prize, The Pool authentically depicts Hindi culture and Goa's vivid landscape.
