As lead singer of the avant-garde act Swans, mope-throated Michael Gira pushed the limits of bass-freakery, moaning like there was no tomorrow. Recently he's spent his time on (slightly) more passive pursuits: he signed upstart acts like Devendra Banhart and Akron/Family to the Young God label, while his own band, the Angels of Light, continues to toe the line between freak-folk and ostentatious art-rock. Tonight, the long-running NYC institution ventures into the White Light from the Mouth of Infinity alone, for a mere five bones.
