Terre Haute

Terre Haute imagines conversations between Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and author Gore Vidal with unsentimental compassion. McVeigh contacted Vidal after reading his Vanity Fair article "Shredding of the Bill of Rights," and the two corresponded for years but never met. Esteemed novelist Edmund White's 80-minute, morally agnostic play is a series of meetings between fictional characters (Europeanized American writer James Brevoort and Gulf War vet turned terrorist bomber Harrison) who bear a strong resemblance to their real-life counterparts.
