A supergroup of sorts, Cubic Zirconia is comprised of vocalist Tiombe Lockhart (best known for her work with Platinum Pied Pipers), Nick Hook, and Todd Weinstock (former members of electro-funk act Men Women & Children); tonight's debut performance sees the trio showcasing their frenetic, otherworldly sound before heading across the pond to give London what for. Check otherworldly lazer-funk cut "I Wanna Freebase You," on which Lockhart's syrupy-smooth cooing is full of hilarity and sex appeal all at once. Also taking the stage is local hero Michna with his four-piece band, Raw Paw, playing bangin' instrumental hip-hop; Waajeed of PPP fame; and Daryl Palumbo of Sports, who once fronted hardcore band Glassjaw.
