Enter Laughing: The Musical is old-school musical comedy at its best. Joseph Stein, who wrote the book for Fiddler on the Roof, has remade his hit play from the ’60s into a musical that follows an endearingly awkward aspiring young actor (Joel Kolowitz, played with extraordinary dexterity by Josh Grisetti) as he makes his stage debut. In possession of a vivid imagination and over-charged hormones, Kolowitz lurches from one mishap to the next, aided by Stan Daniels' music and humorous lyrics. Under the direction of Stuart Ross — the man behind Forever Plaid — the entire cast has honed its comic timing to perfection.
