ESG (Emerald, Sapphire, Gold) are reunited and ready for action. Originally from the South Bronx, the Scroggins sisters' rock quintet has been keeping booties shaking in NYC since the early '80s — their work has been sampled by the likes of TLC, Wu-Tang Clan, and the Beastie Boys. Though drummer Valerie contentiously claimed that a shoulder injury in 2006 made it impossible to drive a bus, it certainly hasn't impaired her playing. The band's playful, disco-inspired dance funk is rhythmically rich, with groovy guitar and bass guaranteed to make you move.
