If the Zune commercial currently gobbling up TV airtime is any indication, godfather of hip-hop Afrika Bambaataa remains massively relevant in today's cluttered musical landscape (crazy Egyptian headdress and all). Of course, without his early use of synths on the seminal track "Planet Rock," we might not be able to get down to the electro, house, and techno we so love today. This evening, he's joined at reliable downtown spot Poisson Rouge by Philly's own Low B, a legend in his own right after popularizing genre-bending DJ sets alongside Diplo (as Hollertronix).
