“From Robert Maxwell epics to nude acrobatic dance shows, the Kitchen is always working to stretch the boundaries of theatre. We're particularly intrigued by this re-invention of Varda's New Wave masterpiece Cléo from 5 to 7 (1962), by Annie-B Parson and Paul Lazar's multimedia performance group Big Dance Theater. The strong title character of Cléo and the sparse plot line both make it an ideal piece from which to craft an abstract dance, while the meta-theatrical elements add an intriguing complexity.”
