Happily married, Mr. and Mrs. Oldsmobile are as reliable as their GM namesake. But why are they and the rest of the city at a standstill on the Manhattan Bridge? Roger Rosenblatt's one-act, two-character play answers this question as the couple recounts a colorful history (they were Olympic athletes, for one). Offstage characters only complicate matters with their agendas, but director Jim Simpson ensures that this unseen chorus is ridiculous. The Oldsmobiles, on the other hand, come across as our own family, friends, or neighbors; here they are Richard Masur and Alice Playten, two terrific actors with great chemistry.
