On a dark and stormy night in 1816, Dr. John Polidori, Lord Byron, Percy Shelley, and Mary Wollstonecraft Goodwin held a horror story contest. (The films Bride of Frankenstein and Gothic depict this event with varying degrees of hysterics.) No matter: the future Mrs. Shelley's contribution was published in 1818 as Frankenstein. Radiotheatre captures the daring spirit of that Lake Geneva house party through their Innovative Theatre Award-winning combination of storytelling, original music, and sound effects. Frankenstein is perfectly timed for a Halloween fright with its cautionary tale of an experiment and quest for immortality gone terribly wrong.
