The always excellent Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet opens its fall season with the New York premiere of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's Orbo Novo, a full-length piece that explores the power of the brain, placing the audience inside a woman's mind as she's having a stroke. Dancers squeeze through an intricately designed cube and writhe together in perfect harmony (and dissonance) to music marked with pointedly profound atonality — which only highlights the drama of this moving work.
