Jo Andres, a filmmaker and choreographer from NYC's '80s experimental art scene, presents a collection of her visual artwork for the first time actually in New York, with This Is Beauty, Girls, a collection of nine cyanotypes. This 19th-century technique of using an iron-based photo process resulting in deep-blue images is updated with digital technology and a thoroughly modern sensibility; the pieces explore "feminine glamour" and all its contradictions through creepily funny images.
