Joe's Pub presents an evening of musical acts featuring artists whose musical influences run the gamut from around the globe. Heavily rooted in traditions from the old world, these NYC artists progressively reinvent the wheel inspired by the colorful, multicultural music of the City. The evening will feature the other-worldly Balkan a Cappella quartet Black Sea Hotel singing their own arrangements as well as classical renditions of traditional Balkan music. Also featured is powerhouse beatboxer Adam Matta whose rhythmic experiments include compositions laced with jazz, hip-hop and middle eastern beats. Black Sea Hotel and Matta will also collaborate on songs blending the Quartet's luscious, haunting vocals with Matta's inimitable, inventive beats. Additionally, the evening will also feature special guest, enigmatic songstress/composer Shara Worden, of the acclaimed band "My Brightest Diamond".
