“Downtown theatre artist Neal Medlyn routinely uses celebrities as fodder for his pop-culture theatrical explorations, which have included an R. Kelly cabaret and, most recently, Unpronounceable Symbol, a journey into the endless androgyny of the artist formally known as — well, honestly, we lost track of what to call him. This time around, he tackles the idea of purity and abstinence through the music and lives of two of its alleged poster children (remember Britney's ardent claims of virginity?), pop superstars Hannah Montana and Britney Spears. Medlyn and Carmine Covelli bring them to life with Farris Craddock providing live, tweentastic tunes.”

Dance Gang was founded in 2006 as a performance outlet for dancers Kennis Hawkins and Will Rawls. Dance Gang's projects include site-specific, guerilla-style performance, gallery installations, and stage work. Their newest stage work, Dog Breaks, will set the stage as the evening’s opening act. Expect their signature blend of direct audience engagement and archly spurious logic as they reference pop iconography, dance, and perform live music.
