92nd Street Y (92Y) says…

Visit the marvelously restored Bialystoker Synagogue and the Eldridge Street Synagogue, two of the most prominent sacred sites during the peak of Jewish immigration to the Lower East Side. The Bialystoker Synagogue features a richly painted ceiling and handpainted murals on the walls, while the Eldridge Street Synagogue boasts richly hued stained-glass windows and a majestic carved walnut ark.

An experienced guide from the Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy, a nonprofit Jewish educational organization, leads these tours. Meet at 235 East Broadway, between Clinton and Montgomery streets. Please wear comfortable shoes. Subway: F train to East Broadway.
