Aphids of Australia: A Quarreling Pair

Australian arts company Aphids creates an intense meditation on sisterly bonds in A Quarreling Pair, a program of three miniature-puppet plays. Starting with American avant-gardist Jane Bowles' play of the title name that portrays the contentious relationship between two sisters, Aphids follows with two additional plays that riff on the same characters and themes: Mr. Peterson's Milk (Lally Katz) and And When They Were Good (Cynthia Troup). All three plays effectively combine live actors, puppets, and object theater, blending whimsy and comedy with a dark edge that makes this decidedly adult entertainment.
