Wooden Shjips, Effi Briest and Silver Summit will precede the screening performing songs and interpretations of the original score composed by Paul Giovanni and by the original folk songs, poems and rituals that were the basis for the film's score.
Then join 92YTribeca and The Third Floor for a very special screening of Robin Hardy’s original 1973 cult horror masterpiece The Wicker Man. A devout Christian, Sgt. Howie is summoned to an isolated island off the Scottish coast to investigate an anonymous report of a missing girl, where he finds himself trapped in a world of ancient folklore, pagan rituals and the lustful landlord’s daughter.
Director Robin Hardy will be present for a Q & A session after the 7:00pm screening and will screen teaser footage from his Wicker Man re-imagining The Wicker Tree featuring Christopher Lee that just wrapped principle photography this summer. And expect many more special guests for this rare screening!
