Urban Sun is born and bred here in NYC. Funk, Soul & Rock are the main ingredients that make up the Grooves. We get people up and dancing, raising their hands and singing to the melodies. That's why we do it, that's how we do it! Not for fame or money, but for the love of music, and the love of Funk. If you are ready to get down, then you are ready to party with Urban Sun.

OTiS is: Craig Alan (vocals/rhythm guitar), Theo Moore (percussion), Dominick Magnotta (drums), and Dave Lowenthal (bass), and Justin Etheredge (keys). Based out of Brooklyn, OTiS can be defined in three words, Rock, Soul, Groove. Their fans are drawn to the band’s political message, and with front man Craig Alan’s crystal clear voice, the world’s problems never sounded sweeter. With influences ranging from rock, soul, reggae, funk, and blues, audiences don’t know whether to dance, protest or light up. OTiS was founded by Craig Alan in 2004. Alan was given the nickname ‘Otis’ from fans who compared his voice to that of soul legend Otis Redding. The name stuck. Since the release of their first album, the self-titled, ‘OTiS’ (2008), the band has become a staple in New York City’s music scene. It’s hard to live in NYC, and not hear about an OTiS show. Look for the release of their second album this fall. *************************

Give a listen to Harper Simon’s shining solo debut and you’ll soon recognize that he is much more than just a shooting star. Harper Simon is the work of an exceptionally gifted singer-songwriter and guitarist who’s clearly discovered who he is and found his own way and as a recording artist in a time when the very concept of recording an album seems threatened. Simon artfully shares that sense of discovery here throughout an ambitious and deeply felt new piece of work that offers a vivid and even haunting reminder of how much an album can still mean here in 2009. For Harper Simon, the opportunity to make his own album here was a matter of no small consequence. “The long playing album is the great artistic medium invented in the second half of the 20th century,” says Simon. “The long playing album is not just ten songs thrown together randomly. It has an arc. It has a structure. It is the attempt to make ten songs that are all as good as each other, and fit together in a seamless whole. Long playing albums like Sgt Peppers, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Pet Sounds, Blonde On Blonde, Sticky Fingers -- these albums have helped define our culture. When I was making this record, I was very conscious of making a record that was an homage to the LP.”

The Brooklyn-based Americans translate life into sound using nothing but puny analog and electrified instruments. Formed in January of 2001, the band has become the standard-bearer for DIY bands in New York. Americans released their first, EP "all we are saying is give war a chance" in 2003, and their first full length, Margarine in Fall 2005. They are currently at work on their second full length, tentatively titled "How do You Survive?"
