Although best known for his starring roles in blockbusters like Speed and the Matrix trilogy, Keanu Reeves has been a gift to American independent cinema as well, notably in River's Edge, The Prince of Pennsylvania and Dangerous Liaisons.
The Private Lives of Pippa Lee is the third feature by writer-director Rebecca Miller: after Personal Velocity and The Ballad of Jack and Rose, she tells the story of Pippa (Robin Wright Penn), who is trying to adjust to the retirment of her older husband (Alan Arkin), as well as to a new friendship with a young man (Reeves) who does not fit into suburban Connecticut.
