Rising up close to ten years after their initial disbandment in mid-'99, the Jesus Lizard have reunited and are now touring again. The band was formed when David Yow and David Sims, two-thirds of Texan noise-rockers Scratch Avid, joined with classically trained guitarist Duane Denison and drummer Mac McNeilly. The Jesus Lizard became an indie rock sensation in the early-'90s, thanks to notoriety earned from ferocious live performances combined with four albums produced by Steve Albini for Touch and Go. For those who missed them the first time around, expect bondage-tight rhythms, sharp-as-shrapnel guitar work, and a lead singer channeling Nick Cave at his most Southern Gothic primal.
