Asia Society and Museum says…

Come hear two of China’s most provocative and adventuresome artistic voices as they consider future directions for contemporary Chinese arts. Avant-garde artist Wenda Gu and award-winning composer Tan Dun discuss their work, peers and the intersection of national identity and global culture. The conversation is moderated by Melissa Chiu, Director of Asia Society Museum and the author of Breakout: Chinese Art Outside China (2007), focusing on the international Chinese artistic diaspora, and Chinese Contemporary Art: 7 Things You Should Know (2008).

This program is presented as part of Carnegie Hall's Ancient Paths, Modern Voices: A Festival Celebrating Chinese Culture and is made possible by the Kai-Yin Lo Distinguished Program Series, which aims to create a platform to discuss the role of Asian arts and culture in contemporary society.
