The exhibition Vermeer’s Masterpiece The Milkmaid, organized to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the founding of New York as "New Amsterdam," features one of the artist's most celebrated works, on loan for the first time from the Netherlands, and seen in the context of its creation in an era of exploration, travel, and trade, and in relation to the five paintings by Vermeer in the Met’s collection. Meet in the Bonnie J. Sacerdote Lecture Hall in the Uris Center for Education at 11 a.m.
