August Schulenburg's new play takes place between 1960 and 1969, when public and private worlds noisily collided in outer space, on television, at schools and across dinner tables. It's not so surprising that the characters include a journalist, poet, cartoonist, and indeed, a NASA scientist. What is surprising is that both they and the audience are aided by One, a goddess of history. Thus, The Lesser Seductions of History offers a glimpse into a time of genuine turmoil to serve as a reminder that change is part of the human experience.
