For the fifth year, The New Yorker takes over dozens of Chelsea and Soho galleries to offer a curated look at some of the best established and emerging artists working today. Highlights include Jenny Holzer, whose work was recently shown at the Whitney; Phoebe Washburn, whose large-scale installations were last scene at the 2008 Whitney Biennial; and Tim Eitel, whose ominous portraits focus on the theatricality of everyday life. Art lovers receive a souvenir "passport" that gets stamped at each gallery with a replica of a featured work by the artists above and many others. The day's festivities culminate with a cocktail party and silent art auction.
