Short and funny is the motto for this inventive film series that screens monthly at 92Y Tribeca's cozy theater. Some of the most intriguing offerings this month include Hipster Job, a reimagining of the bible with hipsters and ironic mustaches; Something for the Wickend, a day in the life of a man struggling to adjust to his boss' unusual motivational techniques; and Bleeding Love, an atypical boy-meets-girl love story with lots and lots of needles. For those feeling the itch to be on screen, the folks at Iron Mule pick an audience member at each screening to star in an upcoming film.

92YTribeca says…

With Guest Judge R. Sikoryak

"The Iron Mule" is a 1925 slapstick comedy by the great silent comedian Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, featuring Buster Keaton as an Indian! The name also describes the movies we love to show; tough, burly, uncompromising shorts which can't be stopped.

We are a collective of filmmakers and film lovers who meet monthly to celebrate funny and inventive short cinema among friends. Join us if you dare!

R. Sikoryak will join hosts Jay Stern and Victor Varnado as the guest judge for this month. Sikoryak is the author of Masterpiece Comics (Drawn & Quarterly), "where classics and cartoons collide." He’s drawn comics and pictures for Nickelodeon Magazine, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The New Yorker, The Onion and Mad, among other media giants. In his spare time, he hosts the cartoon slide show series Carousel.
