This recently announced event is a decidedly low-key and low-cost alternative to the many raucous celebrations happening around the city. Performers include Get Your War On Cartoonist David Rees, satiric storytelling group the Psychasthenia Society, mind-bending visual artist Deborah Johnson, and a slew of mellow indie songstresses including Liane Smith, who recently recorded with Nada Surf and Cat Martino, and whose haunting take on "Blue Moon" hits an authentic chord. The casual vibe of the show allows the audience to move freely from the stage to the many nooks in the building for grub, convo, and of course, booze. Post-midnight party includes an open mic, karaoke corner, and a few surprise guests to boot.
