Simon Evans debuts his artistic pluralism at the James Cohen Gallery with Island Time, a series of works inspired by island-survival-as-metaphor. The show's highlight, Everything I Have, is an abacus of colorful objects that re-contextualizes the notion of rationing, and is both pragmatic and obsessively detailed. The exhibit marks a strange ethos apart from normality, compressing "dreamscapes" of islands and cities with grounding details of reality (survivalist quotas and maps).
